Technical Supports to qualitatively upgrade the skills and processes of food producing industries in Liberia.

In an effort to ensuring that the quality infrastructure of Liberia is fully built and capacitated to international standards, the National Standards Laboratory of Liberia has also developed series of programs intended to qualitatively upgrade the skills and processes of food producing industries in Liberia and the inspectors of regulatory bodies which are directly involved with food and public health. These programs are:

Technical Support To Food Producing Industries In Liberia,

Objectives    

The objectives of this program are:

  1. To provide technical services to food producing industries in Liberia to enhance the production of safe food;
  2. To acquaint staffs of food producing industries with the knowledge of ISO 22000:2005 & HACCP principle;
  3. To empower food producing industries to fully comply with food safety management policies and all regulatory bodies in the production of safe food;
  4. To reduce the risk of contamination and health effect of unsafe food;
  5. To ensure that the goals of the National food Safety Guidelines of Liberia is successfully achieved;
  6. To ensure that inspectors of regulatory bodies are fully train in sample management;
  7. That food production industries will be strengthen to seek for accreditation against HACCP and ISO 22000: 2005.

B.    Regulatory Bodies’ Inspectors Training Program

Objectives

  1. Train food inspectors in sample management ethics;
  2. Uphold the integrity of samples brought to the lab by inspectors of regulatory bodies;
  3. Ensure that samples brought are direct reflection of the whole batch;
  4. Maintain the quality management system of the laboratory;
